Guinea Pigs!

 

We headed to a petting zoo in San Juan Capistrano with Jess and the M's last Sunday

where, surprisingly, the major draw were guinea pigs.

no--smitten with these creatures.

 

 

 

 

Of course, there were goats

 

 

 

 

and horses

 

 

 

but the guinea pigs won the day.

For LA!!!! Here's the snake we met last night at the LA Zoo 

(named Audrey because, like Audrey Hepburn, she has a long neck).

For strong friendships:  

Sam and Jess never forgetting people on their special occasions (like Marissa's birthday),

and for my great pal Julie with whom I've traveled many heart-felt paths.

2016 Begins

Not for us with midnight celebrations of the New Year

but enjoying the Panama crew until Jan.7th when they returned home.

 Nibbles joyfully welcomed Gwen.

Then we got to watch Maddie graduate to a green belt.

 

We celebrated Jess' big 40th on the 14th! 

Had the M's for the night when Sam and Jess escaped to Vegas for her 40th.

The next morning we migrated to the studio

 

where Toby, a week or so before, discovered his handy talent for sanding furniture,

 

I for painting,

 

  
and now the M's for 

creating stripes, creatures, a giant peach, and an inspirational saying on the back of my desk!

Plus, a great visit from the Feinsteins.

Wonderful Little Trip to Carmel

After New Year's, the Page Bethel's and the T's drove up to Carmel for two nights.

Jolly trip in a large rental car with David driving, stopping in Carmel Valley Village to drop off a "Theo" painted table at a local gallery.

Kids telescoping the bay at the Monterrey Aquarium.  Theo and Toby stayed in Carmel nursing his cold, but got to stroll a bit the fun, little Carmel streets.

The next day and Toby better, walking the beach in Carmel. 

Hiking

the windy cliffs of Point Lobos,

looking down at the seals. 

Lunch at Nepenthe, the restaurant started by the parents of Kaffee Fassett, an artist who I've followed for years and a place I've always wanted to visit..and I finally did!

 

Then the drive home on Rte.1, long but lovely.

And a great two-day get-away for us all.
