 More Chocorua Activities

Mucking out the leaves from the beach with a loon far off.

A  rosy lady slipper standing proud by the lake.

Still snow on Mt. Washington, still traffic in North Conway.

Soaking my aching bones in a hot bath with little friends looking on.

Loving Steve, the Chocorua postmaster, who selected these stamps for me instead of the boring roll of ones with American flags.

A strange creature keeps reappearing on the lawn, eating the early buds of the flowers.  Too strange for a cat.  Maybe a small black fisher cat?

A week ago I flew to Boston looking like this.

And rediscovered wonderful Chocorua:

White violets sprinkling the lawn,

lilacs blooming (I've always wanted to be here for that).

Had a glass of wine with Alan on the front porch.

Lots of talk and lots of black fly bites.

Noticed lady bugs all over the house--a yearly event, don't know why.

Surprised to find an artfully constructed  (but empty) mouse nest in my bathrobe pocket made of kleenex and pink feathers.

Two shy deer in the upper pasture early yesterday morning.

Packing Up

Last week's
happenings before departing for Chocorua:

Lea's paintings and my furniture are loaded into a UHaul UBox to journey to the East Coast.

This brave lady got her first Covid vaccination--yeah!!!!

Linda, Jeff and I host the Spencer and Sam gangs for a Granada takeout dinner.

One happy lady holding baby River.

Dinner inside.

One devoted dad feeding his son.

Lots of good chatter.

And bliss to have a dog under the table.

More Activity...

Going to "Trouble in Tahiti"at Heritage Square, a production  by the Pacific Opera Project.

Suzanne Siegel and I walked over from her house, dressed warmly for cold weather, ate sandwiches,  drank wine, and adored being at a real live performance.

Finishing the last table to be shipped soon to the east coast.

A zoom photo with the Panama family!

My book is finished! I've ordered 100 copies.  Such a great project for me during Covid--and now I feel a little lost without all that concentration on it!

 More Happenings

Movie watching ("Memphis Belle"?)

Maddie and Max spend the night and paint, once again, in my studio--

fish this time!

Then back to the PK house for Easter baskets

and the scaled-up-in-difficulty scavenger hunt.

Since then, I've ventured out of my little sanctuary here and into the wide world--

for an in-person guitar lesson, to Trader Joe's, to the Huntington Gardens with friends, to the dentist (finally!), to Granada for an outside dinner with Linda and Jeff,

to the Woodward's for an indoor dinner with friends,

and Lea over after a year to have dinner inside

and watch Rachel Maddow together!

As always, the cats watch.
