Summer's End

 

A wonderful summer in Chocorua and, as fall comes,

 

the dahlia loves the colder weather and is still blooming

 

as are the strawberries. 

The spider on the kitchen porch is furiously preparing for winter.

The King snake on the porch sheds her skin.

Purple asters, Toby's mother's favorite, blooming.

Apples turning red and sweet enough to eat.

 Crickets abound.

But the afternoon shadows lengthen on the lawn.
