Weekend Outing in Panama

This Saturday we went by boat to an Indian village

which is only about 20 minutes from Gamboa
but miles away in terms of peace and quiet.

The village children were very interested in Gwen, and she in them.

We took a short hike in the jungle where they showed us various medicinal plants

and we stopped to look at leaf cutter ants.

Gwen got a great close-up view of this parrot while we listened
to our hosts explain how the village was founded.

Then there was dancing

with fifing and drumming.

It was hot and sweaty, but what an incredible day!

Dogs everywhere know how to relax.

Then time for the short ride back to Gamboa.
