Wood Stove

The last few days, John LeGates, the wood stove guru, has visited us--for dinners, Toby and he taking a winter hike in the Presidentials,

and chiefly, it seems, to talk about the how-tos of a fine wood stove fire:  effectiveness and efficiency.

 

John had a new, easy way of stacking the wood--and using no newspaper to get the fire started.

I enjoyed watching these two (57 years as friends) back together again, engrossed in the on-going interest of how things work.
